Under the general direction of the District Supervisor and in accordance with the Lease Agreement,
Kakadu Plan of Management and the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
(EPBC ACT), participate in Park management programs including:
• Management of weeds, feral animals, fire, cultural site management and dangerous animals;
• Delivery of park interpretive activities, customer serv
• ices and public relations;
• Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs for park assets and
infrastructure;
• Working and liaison with contractors engaged in park programs;
• Administrative duties including reporting, assisting with budget preparation and purchasing of
stores and equipment;
• Assist with the delivery of risk assessment, analysis and incident management; and
• Record survey data, provide incident reports, draft proposals and prepare plans.


The Ranger will be expected to:
• Drive a 4WD vehicle.
• Hold a current drivers licence.
• Have a reasonable level of fitness.
• Wear uniform and other appropriate clothing.
• Handle wildlife.
• Fly in fixed wing and helicopter aircraft.
• Meet requirements of the Australian Public Service Code of Conduct including:
• Act with care and diligence
• Behave at all times in a way that upholds the integrity and good reputation of the Australian Public Service
• Behave honestly and with integrity
• Comply with all applicable Australian Law
• Comply with any lawful and reasonable direction given by someone in the employees Agency who has authority
to give the direction.
• Treat everyone with respect and courtesy
• Use Commonwealth resources in a proper manner
