Quantitative Habitat Biologist – Junior

Responsibilities:

• Conduct statistical analyses;
• Assist with the application and development of advanced modeling and simulation analyses;
• Assist with preparation of proposals and reports
• Conduct literature reviews;
• Mentor technical staff;
• Assist with the development of fish habitat no net loss strategies/habitat compensation plans and prepare fish and fish habitat environmental impact assessments.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Biology, Ecology or Environmental Sciences.
• A minimum requirement of a Master’s degree with 1 year of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years experience.
• Experience conducting quantitative analyses for ecological studies.
• Excellent technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable Skills

• Consulting industry experience with working knowledge of fisheries requirements related to industrial developments and their impacts.
• Strong working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems within Canada.
• Experience with at least one commercial statistical software package.
• Experience applying advanced modeling and simulation techniques.
• Excellent ability with MS Excel and MS Access.
