As a Proposal Writer at OPOWER, you will contribute to our company’s participation in formal procurement processes and other business development efforts, positioning us to win new business. You will author compelling and professional proposals that reflect our market leadership position, while managing cross-functionally to ensure that our proposals exceed client expectations. You will be responsible for content/knowledge management that ensures access to up-to-the-minute, powerful materials. Responsibilities
- Author comprehensive, accurate, and professional proposals
- Maintain proposal content library so that documentation and learnings are captured for future use
- Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, product, analytics, design, implementation) to blend our product’s features, market intelligence, and company positioning into text that conveys our value proposition
- Translate text into benefit-focused graphics, both independently and with our in-house design team
- Facilitate bid evaluation and proposal strategy
- Assist the Proposal Manager in optimizing on-time production and delivery of all RFPs/bids, from forecasting to winning
- Work with product development team to develop and hone technical documentation/user guides
About You
- You have BA/BS from a top university, with a minimum of 2 years experience in proposal writing/coordination.
- You love to write and do it well.
- You have strong experience contributing to the design and maintenance of knowledge/content management systems.
- You have good visual design skills, which you use to generate visually appealing and compelling graphics and documents.
- You can manage by influence, leading cross-functional teams towards a common purpose.
- You can translate technical features into customer benefits.
- You have demonstrated success in navigating through complex procurement processes.
- You are detail-oriented with superb organizational skills and strong follow-through.
- You have great ability to prioritize and manage schedules.
