Description

My client specializes in financing and development of large-scale solar PV power plants across Europe. They have a strong desire to expand their scope and take on even larger-scale solar PV projects. They have offices in Germany, UK and Spain and are looking at expanding their German team.

Position Overview:

They are currently looking for a project seller to join the project finance team and work on selling on my clients developments to investors, private equity firms and funds. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the CEO on project finance deals with a focus on solar PV in Germany, Czech republic, Spain and Italy
  • Monitoring and development of buyers market
  • Summary of all relevant information and documents to prepare the internal financing and strategic decisions
  • You will be responsible for the selling of projects to investors, private equity firms, funds and other outside buyers
  • Origination of project finance through equity and corporate sponsorship with the European market
  • Source and scout sites within the renewable energy market in an attempt to determine the return from investment and the type of developments that will be the most profitable in the future
  • Work with outside agencies on the in order to develop appropriate contracts and legal material for the financing of the projects
  • Utilizing your skills in risk analysis within solar PV projects advising the company on analysis results
  • You will utilize your strong negotiation, financial modeling and contract skills in order to ensure the raising of equity for the renewable energy projects
  • Project development, acquisition strategy and external advisors coordination

Education:

You must have a relevant degree in law, economics, engineering or an MBA

Core Requirements:

  • 3-6 years working in project finance or private equity sector
  • A proven track record of at least 1-2 successful projects taken through to competition
  • Strong experience working in the Solar PV sector and preferably other renewable energy projects
  • Excellent ability in developing client relationships with the contacts within the financial industry
  • Experience working on an international level
  • Excellent written and verbal English, any other language skills a bonus
  • Critical assessment and due diligence of investment opportunities
  • Excellent understanding of key tax issues with different deal structures is preferred

  • Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent contacts within banking and equity investment
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
  • Excellent presentation

Key skills:

Renewable energy, strong finance background, large-scale PV projects, team leadership and a good experience in project financing, Solar PV developments.
