Description

This is an exciting time to join the Councils’ projects team to support the Climate Change Project Manager in the delivery of key projects that will help us meet our ambitions. Climate Change has been identified as one of the top priorities for this Council in our Council Plan and we need your support to deliver on it.

We are looking for a Project Support Officer with a keen passion for the environment, along with an ability to quickly build credible working relationships with key stakeholders.

You will be part of a small team of Project Management professionals, so a ‘can do’ attitude and ethos of teamworking is essential, along with excellent communication skills. As part of this small team, you may at times be asked to assist the wider projects team on other types of projects.

Your work programme will be varied and will involve contributing to a wide range of environmental and sustainability schemes and initiatives. Examples include leading on our E-Cargo bike and trike scheme, supporting the delivery of our Community Climate Change Fund, collaborating with partners to increase tree planting efforts and enhance biodiversity, and contribute to the development of climate change adaptation measures. You will also be working on the development of a robust evidence base which will directly inform Council policy. The variety of work that you will be involved in makes this an excellent opportunity for somebody looking to pursue a career in the environmental sector.

The working hours for this role equate to three working days per week, whilst a set working pattern will need to be put in place, we afford flexibility of what this work pattern might look like, providing the contracted hours are fulfilled.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Hannah Heath (Transformation Programme Manager) or Eleanor Warren (Climate Change Project Manager) by email initially at projects@stratford-dc.gov.uk

Applications will close on Sunday 28 July 2024, at Midnight.

Interviews will be held week commencing 12 August 2024.

To apply please visit our website: https://www.stratford.gov.uk/work-training/vacancies.cfm or email hr@stratford-dc.gov.uk

In addition to an open and friendly environment you’ll enjoy an excellent benefits package including a minimum of 25 days’ annual leave, hybrid working, flexi time scheme, Health Cash Plan Scheme and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

The Council is committed to equality of opportunity and aims to create a welcoming, inclusive workplace where we are all able to bring our whole selves to work and perform at our best.
