Norfolk County Council Project Officer - NLAF Salary: £32,076 to £33,945 per annum (Scale) Contract: Temporary Contract until 30th September 2026 Basis: 37 hours per week Location: Norfolk Norfolk County Council (NCC) are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Officer to join our team and work with the Norfolk Local Access Forum (NLAF). This role is your chance to support access to Norfolk’s incredible network of walking, cycling, and horse-riding routes, and help to make sure everyone can experience nature and culture across our county. In this role, you’ll work with NLAF volunteers, Pathmakers Trustees (NLAF’s charitable arm), and NCC colleagues. You will support the delivery and monitoring of the Norfolk Access Improvement Plan (NAIP), streamline reporting processes, and build strong working relationships. You’ll handle administrative duties and prepare necessary documentation for NLAF meetings, and you’ll assist in developing income streams by identifying funding opportunities and supporting bid development and project design. You’ll work closely with Norfolk and National Trails Officers, as well as colleagues in Public Rights of Way, to support the integration of the Greenways to Green Spaces programme. This collaborative effort will enhance our work and bring more people in Norfolk closer to nature. We’re looking for someone with significant experience in a similar role, a proven track record of working with volunteers, and experience in managing stakeholder relationships. If you have project management skills, advanced Microsoft Office capabilities, knowledge of mapping or spatial data management software, and an understanding of national environmental policies, we want to hear from you. You will need strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Being able to prioritise and develop your own work plans based on varying demands, having a proactive and problem-solving attitude, and being committed to delivering results are essential skills for this role. The ability to work well under pressure and manage expectations effectively is also important. We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £32,076-£33,945 (dependent on experience), with a pension scheme and additional rewards and benefits. This role is a two-year fixed-term, full-time position (37 hours per week), however part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
