Project Medfish Officer

Under the supervision of the MSC French Fisheries Manager you will coordinate and implement the project activities in France, jointly with relevant stakeholders and partners. This will include organization and animation of workshops and meetings, raising awareness about the project, animation of a network of various stakeholders, collaboration with consultants etc.

The main objectives are to actively reach out to French Mediterranean fisheries representatives and stakeholders, actively involve them in the relevant project activities and workshops, and support them in the implementation of improvements defined during the first stage of the project. 

You will work in close collaboration with the MSC and partner teams in France, Spain and Europe. In particular, you will ensure smooth coordination and consistency between activities carried out in France, and Spain by collaborating with the Spanish Project Officer.

You will have:

• A post-graduate degree in fisheries sciences, fisheries management or marine resource conservation with a very good knowledge of the French fishing sector (ex: Halieute)
• Previous experience (at least 3 years) of working with the fishing sector, marine conservation, fisheries management
• Previous experience of developing stakeholder engagement and dialogue
• Experience in project management
• Excellent spoken and written French and English; Spanish is desirable.
• A personal interest in marine resource protection and commitment to the MSC’s mission and vision
