Project Manager, Water/Wastewater Monitoring

As a leader in the provision and installation of monitoring equipment, our client offers wastewater services including sewer flow monitoring, inflow & infiltration reduction, on-line monitoring systems, smoke testing and manhole inspections. Due to an influx in Victorian work, they require the services of an experienced Project Manager.

The Melbourne team currently numbers 10 staff. The average project value is in the vicinity of $100-$150k with the total project value for the office at $2M. These numbers are predicted to grow significantly in the next 12 months.

Reporting to head office in Sydney, you will be required to:

•    Prepare project plans to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures.
•    Forward plan all tasks and activities and forecast costs to ensure budget and scheduling targets are met.
•    Ensure all project deliverables are submitted on time and in accordance with contract specification.
•    Manage project staff so that they understand all aspects of the project relevant to them. Supervise and coordinate the work of all staff professionals, technicians, and others.
•    Monitor Customer expectations for all projects to ensure that these expectations are managed and satisfied.
•    Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices in accordance with schedule of payments and contract terms.
•    Assist accounting staff to manage accounts receivables of all projects.

In addition to this, you will be required to:

•    Achieve/Exceed Budgeted Contribution Margins
•    Assist Business Development
•    Manage all Resources
•    Work with OHS Management Systems
•    Oversee the Office Management
The ideal person will have:

•    Engineering degree (Civil, Environmental, Agricultural etc) or equivalent.
•    At least 5 years project management experience, including all facets of project management:
•    Water/Waste water industry knowledge, preferably with a good understanding of the water cycle from water reticulation to waste water collection.
•    Accustomed to dealing with Clients – water authorities / councils / engineering consultants.
•    Ability to manage staff at all levels.
•    Accustomed to working autonomously.
•    Ability to make decisions independently.
•    Excellent computer skills.
•    Good understanding of OHS requirements.
•    Experienced preparing complex budget pricing.
•    Good understanding of VIC employment law/working conditions.
