Description

My client is a pioneering force in the offshore wind market in the USA. They are involved in a large number of the projects in construction or in pipeline stage within the offshore wind energy market. They have worked on international projects across Europe and are looking at taking advantage of the expanding offshore wind sector in the USA.

Position Overview:

My client currently require an experienced project manager to work in the offshore wind farm sector in the US and lead a team of developers and engineers throughout the construction process. They are looking at expanding their senior engineering team and require strong project managers in order to tie this team together.

Responsibilities:

  • ·         You will be involved in overseeing the proposal stage through to the commissioning and constructing process
  • ·         Performing as a leader and manage teams throughout the construction process of the offshore wind market
  • ·         Liaising with senior program managers and developing strong working relationships within the company
  • ·         Working to the highest standard to promote the company and ensure market recognition and future opportunities within the renewable energy field for the consultancy company
  • ·         You will be involved in constructing a team around you that is you feel confident in working with
  • ·         Providing technical support to engineers and contractors across the wind farm project in order to perform to the highest standard and ensure your growth within the company
  • ·         Performing as a leader and manage teams
  • ·         Liaising with senior program managers and developing strong working relationships within the company
  • ·         Working to the highest standard to promote the company and ensure market recognition and future opportunities within the renewable energy field
  • ·         Taking on a more senior role in motivating and mentoring those working on the renewable energy project 
  • ·         Overseeing the negotiations and procurement process with manufacturers and developing market contacts with those in the area

Education:

You will have a relevant degree in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering

Core Requirements:

  • ·         A strong background working in the offshore energy market with experience in wind projects
  • ·         Experience working with and liaising with a variety of clients and investors involved in the projects
  • ·         Excellent skills working in a senior management position preferably within the renewable energy sector
  • ·         Strong level of ambition in a desire to progress within the role
  • ·         A strong background in construction preferably with project engineering experience

General requirements

  • ·         Will have 4-6 years experience in the offshore energy market
  • ·         Excellent management skills
  • ·         A technical background working on offshore wind farm projects
  • ·         Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • ·         Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • ·         The ability to travel within the USA
  • ·         A keen interest in the offshore wind market and a desire to see it progress and be part of its development
