Description

The PISCES Project (Partnership Involving Stakeholders in Celtic Sea Eco-System)  needs an experienced Project Manager ideally from a not-for-profit background skilled in successfully delivering on complex multi-stakeholder projects.

WWF regards the north-east Atlantic as one of the most biologically important regions on the planet, and the Celtic Sea is part of it. There is a decline in the health of our seas and the species that depend on them; this is also having an impact on the livelihoods of fishing communities and other industries which rely on the sea and coastline surrounding it. Through the PISCES project WWF aims to develop and implement polices at EU level which will lead to sustainable management of the Celtic Sea, this in turn means everyone can have their fair share of the sea.

We are now recruiting a Project Manager to lead on the effective delivery of the project ensuring that project milestones, work programmes and deadlines are met in accordance with contractual obligations. This will involve managing, co-ordinating and overseeing the activities of the project team, associated beneficiaries and sub-contractors in accordance with the donor contract, effectively managing any contractual risk and ensuring funds are spent efficiently and effectively.

WWF will be working in partnership with The Environment Council and country technical leads in UK, Ireland, France and Spain to build relationships with national level stakeholders and agree new policies; including coastal tourism and recreational industries, marine renewable energy companies, environmental statutory agencies, ports, fisheries and mariculture organisations.
