My client is a leader in the growing renewable energy market globally and are a fully integrated manufacturer, EPC and developer of large-scale ground-based and roof mounted solar PV projects. They have subsidiaries spanning across Europe, USA and the pacific region. They are looking to recruit an experienced project manager based in Rome or Milan.
Position Overview:
The Project Manager is fully responsible for the oversight and management of the project cycle for Commercial PV projects. They will act as the main interface with the customer to schedule work and coordinate services. This key role will be based on the project site and will report to the General Manager. The Site Manager will be responsible for managing, executing and supervising all construction activities on an assigned PV project site.
Responsibilities:-
- · Manage the project cycle for Commercial PV Projects
- · Oversee the permitting and authorization activity for commercial solar projects
- · Develop effective relationships with local project developer and installers, find and select technical advisors, and engineering companies. Manage the local EPC contractors and relationships with local authorities
- · Support the completion of preliminary engineering, detailed specifications and construction and supply contracts
- · Review and be familiar with vendor requirements and assure that equipment is installed in a manner so as not to void warranties
- · Take proactive lead position in learning specific technical details for solar PV project racking installation details
- · Contribute to the development of detailed project management and construction plans and schedules
- · Maintain strong presence in front of sub-contractor(s), supporting and managing sub-contractors execution of work while maintain ET Solutions’ high quality standards
- · Manage project construction activities ensuring Quality, Schedule, Cost, Safety, Environmental and Landowner requirements are met or exceeded;
- · Direct the execution of work in accordance with approved contracts and ensure compliance
- · Provide a safe and secure project site for all project participants
- · Take the lead position making quality first among the equals of quality, cost, safety, and schedule
Education:-
- · Must have strong engineering background (degree in the area of buildings or architecture or construction, electrical engineering preferred )
Core Requirements:-
- At least 3-5 years relevant work experience in the solar industry with a proven track record in project management
- Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of developing solutions for solar projects
- · Experience making day to day decisions at construction site
- · Knowledge of commercial construction including practices and sequence of work
- · In-depth knowledge of commercial PV installations, and wiring configurations
- · Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process
- · Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- · Demonstrated experience with EPC type projects is required
- · Excellent time management skill

- · Solar PV, Civil Eng. with experience in roof and commercial building PV construction, thorough understanding of construction contracts and associated paperwork requirements, engineering Background (degree in the area of buildings or architecture or construction, electrical engineering preferred), solar projects experience and demonstrate ability to give presentations and perform training in both the management and technical areas, in addition to developing such programs
