My client is a global engineering firm that has a developed a strong portfolio of solar PV project globally. They are established in 25 countries across Europe, America and Asia and have established themselves as a key player within the renewable and solar energy markets. They are currently looking for an experienced project manager with both a technical and commercial awareness in the development of utility scale power plants.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for an experienced project manager to join their team in New Jersey and to work on the development of utilty scale projects across America. This is an exciting opportunity for a project engineer with or junior project manager with a strong commercial and technical awareness to take the next step in their career in the vastly emerging solar PV market which is projected to be the biggest market in America over the next 10 years.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Responsible for the origination, development and sales of national commercial scale solar PV projects up to financial close
• ·         Identify, assess and create project development opportunities in America
• ·         Conduct market analysis and feasibility and risk assessment studies on a daily basis
• ·         Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements and securing grid connections and building permits
• ·         Proactively sourcing new investors and projects to grow the business
• ·         Will be managing multiple projects simultaneously to strict deadlines and to above satisfactory standards
• ·         Assessing profitability of projects and successful development including the preparation of land for construction
• ·         Project negotiations (with diverse project partners such as local developers, IPPs or utilities)
• ·         Defining and working within budgetary constraints
• ·         Project financing
• ·         Develop and set up local strategic partnerships with utilities, project developers, IPPs

Education:

• ·         BSs or MSc in engineering, project management or equivalent qualification of relevance

Core Requirements:

• ·         Minimum 3-5 years experience, with a proven track record in the development and management of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects
• ·         Have experience in liaising with senior management and clients
• ·         Must have had extensive experience working on Utility Scale PV projects
• ·         Must be willing to relocate to San Francisco
• ·         Project and time management skills
