IT Power’s Ocean Energy Group is seeking to appoint project engineers to work on an exciting range of marine renewable energy opportunities. The successful candidate will have experience of renewable energy in a marine environment - offshore wind, tidal or wave-power generation.

The successful candidate will be involved in the mechanical and electrical engineering aspects of projects in ocean energy generation, covering scheme development as well as feasibility and resource studies. He or she will have a track record in ocean energy technical innovation and associated development areas. The position will involve carrying out the following functions associated with technology development:

  • mechanical, structural electrical and hydraulic design;
  • plant specification and procurement support;
  • commercial modelling; and
  • resource mapping, energy assessments and evaluations.

The applicant will preferably have either at least 2 years' professional experience, or an MSc in a relevant discipline. Experience with carrying out electrical design, grid connection and/or environmental impact assessments would also be advantageous.

The post can be located at either of IT Power's offices, in Bristol, although the successful applicant must be willing to travel within the UK and abroad. IT Power offers a competitive employment package and a pleasant working environment. The company is an equal opportunities employer. Salaries will be in the range of £23,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.
