Description

My client is a leading solar power plant developer, providing clean energy to utilities and large energy users. They build, develop, finance and operate  large scale power plants and have a strong market presence globally.

Core Criteria:
The Project Director will have a good technical understanding  and commercial background and experience of managing teams. The Project Director will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development and construction of all large-scale power station projects throughout Europe and will lead the technical and commercial project managers, project engineers, installer, all technical staff and all sub-contractors.  

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Responsible for the planning, development and construction of large-scale solar power plants
  • ·         Supervise solar power plants construction
  • ·         Develop new business relationships and managed the relationships with existing business partners
  • ·         Liaise with relevant financial institutions
  • Coordination of contracts and liaising with subcontractors
  • Oversee the draw up of bid documents and contracts
  • Evaluating and selecting offers from contractors
  • Supervising the local teams of the plants
  • Provide engineering judgment to complex system issues
  • ·         Monitoring of assets from a technical and commercial perspective
  • ·         Oversee commissioning & handover process of projects from project delivery to asset management
  • ·         Oversee and manage departmental budget and expenditure
  • ·         Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements and securing grid connections and building permits
  • ·         Will be managing multiple projects simultaneously to strict deadlines and to above satisfactory standards
  • ·         Assessing profitability of projects and successful development including the preparation of land for construction
  • ·         Management of contractors performing construction activities and leading the company’s project execution as the lead on site representative
  • Involved in operations of multiple projects and crew management
  • Manage and supervise all outsourced services and service providers such as legal, financial, and operational
  • Site Survey, Rebate & Interconnect, System Design, Inspection, customer management and quotes
  • Coordinated purchasing, permitting, and inspections
  • Oversee PV site construction and design devolvement

Education:-

  • ·         Must have strong engineering background (electrical engineering degree preferred )

Core Requirements:-

  • At least 5-10 years relevant work experience in the renewable energy industry with a proven track record in project management of large-scale power stations or large complex plants
  • International contract management
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a track record of developing solutions for solar projects
  • ·         Past or present experience making day to day decisions on a construction site

Key Skills:-

Renewable energy, Engineering Background (electrical engineering degree preferred), solar projects experience, team leadership and experience overseeing the planning, development and construction of all large-scale power station projects
