My client is a global engineering firm that has a developed a strong consultancy portfolio of solar PV, Wind and Biomass project globally. They are established in multiple countries across Europe, America and Asia and have established themselves as a key player within the renewable and solar energy markets. They are currently looking for an project developer with both a technical and commercial awareness in the development of utility scale power plants. Whilst they are looking for an project developer, they are looking for someone who displays the ability to work autonomously and take a lead role when required.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for an project developer to join their team in San Francisco and to work on the development of utilty scale projects across America. This is an exciting opportunity for a project engineer or junior project developer with a strong commercial and technical awareness to take the next step in their career in the vastly emerging solar PV and Wind market which is projected to be on of the biggest markets in America over the next 10 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess and create project development opportunities in America
  • Negotiation and acquisition of lease agreements and securing grid connections and building permits
  • Will be managing multiple projects simultaneously to strict deadlines and to above satisfactory standards
  • Assessing profitability of projects and successful development including the preparation of land for construction
  • Defining and working within budgetary constraints

Education:

BSs or MSc in engineering, project management or equivalent qualification of relevance

Core Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience, with a proven track record in the development and management of Wind, Solar photovoltaic (PV) and Biomass projects
  • Have experience in liaising with senior management and clients
  • Must have had extensive experience working on Utility Scale projects
  • Project and time management skills

General Requirements:

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent commercial experience
