Under the direct supervision of the manager of the Protected Areas and Biodiversity Programme, this position is responsible for reporting and coordinating the “Establishment of Yanbu Bird Observatory” project which will be implemented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by IUCN-ROWA. The position holder will be responsible for ensuring the efficient implementation of the project activities and maintaining good relations with the project partners. The position entails regular interactions with peers from regional partners, national administrations, and regional organisations on complex issues.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The project Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of the project: “The establishment of Yanbu Bird Observatory”, more specifically, the post holder will be responsible for the following:
• Project implementation: The post holder will be responsible for the successful completion of the project components and in full compliance with IUCN’s procedures, guidelines and standards;
Specific tasks include: - Coordinate with the team of experts to deliver the required deliverables (survey reports, data and analysis outcomes). - Coordinate with local partners to deliver the needed progress and financial reports. - Coordinate the field work related to project activities and components. - Submit donor and internal progress reports in coordination with the PA, WH and Biodiversity Program Manager. - Procure services and goods, and follow up all logistics related to the implementation of the project activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in close collaboration with the PA, WH and Biodiversity Program Manager. - Assist the PA program manager in budget planning related to project activities.
