We are looking for a confident, experienced and policy-literate Programme Officer to work in our Ecosystem Assessment and Policy Support Programme who is able to make an immediate and significant contribution to our engagement with intergovernmental processes relevant to biodiversity and ecosystem services. This role provides the opportunity to work at the science–policy interface providing support for international policy processes, during a particularly busy and exciting year for biodiversity during which a new post 2020 global biodiversity framework will be negotiated. Your work will help to raise the profile of the Centre to put knowledge at the heart of decision making. You will be given the opportunity to represent the Centre at relevant conferences and workshops, both within the UK and internationally, build relationships with government representatives from around the world and will gain job satisfaction through the successful delivery of important publications, reports and other information outputs. You will have had at least three years’ participation experience in at least one global intergovernmental process and its governance body, preferably from a government or Party perspective and you will be able to show us that you understand the challenges, constraints and opportunities of global and national policy development processes and can apply these to understanding and responding to the needs of Parties to multi-lateral environmental agreements. You will also be a capable project manager, able to work rapidly and flexibly in response to developments in the external world.
