IUCN – the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s Vietnam Country Office seeks to recruit a highly motivated and competent individual for the position of Programme Coordinator based in Hanoi. The initial contract will be for a period of two years with long term prospects forthe right candidate. The Programme Coordinator, IUCN Vietnam Country Office, will report directly to the Country Representative, IUCN Vietnam, and will additionally report to the Regional Programme Coordinator, IUCN Asia on all programme coordination matters. S/he will have overall responsibility for the development and delivery of IUCN’s programme in Vietnam. This includes responsibility for timely planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of an integrated and coherent programme. Specific duties include; • Oversee all strategic programme and project planning, development, monitoring and reportingto IUCN and partners/donors • Ensure the development of good quality strategic, intercessional and annual plans for IUCNVietnam • Support programme and project evaluations and participate in related reviews • Lead the IUCN Vietnam Programme Development Group (PDG) to ensure that it functionseffectively consistent with the strategic priorities and guidelines provided by the Asia Regional Directorate (ARD) • Provide mentoring and technical support to all IUCN-Vietnam staff in the preparation ofproject concepts and proposals including facilitating technical input and reviews by regional Ecosystems and Livelihoods Group (ELGs) • Assist in seeking new funding opportunities by developing innovative alliances with donors,members and partners and producing quality project proposals in close cooperation with both technical staff within IUCN Vietnam and with the regional ELGs; • Assist on matters related to financing and sustainability of IUCN Vietnam notably,management of the ABC list, preparation of project budget and donor contracts, integration of annual work planning and budgeting, and new developing new financing mechanisms; • Undertake specific capacity building measures and exercises (training, mentoring) asnecessary. Requirements Candidates should possess • At least a Masters Degree, preferably in natural resources management, social sciences,or development studies with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in a similar organisation ; • Or, a Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of progressive relevant experience; • Programme development and management experience; • Experience of working with donors/fundraising • Demonstrated ability to lead and work as part of a multicultural, multidisciplinary team willbe a distinct advantage, as will previous experience working in Vietnam or the Mekong region. • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. • Fluency in Vietnamese for foreign nationals is desirable • Computer skills in word-processing and spreadsheets.Qualified Vietnamese and foreign nationals are encouraged to apply.
