World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Program Officer at our Washington, DC office. Under the supervision of Director, Species Conservation the Program Officer for Anti-poaching and Protected Area Management will be responsible for leading on the technical aspects of the Zero Poaching project, focusing on developing US leverage and partnerships. Key Responsibilities Project Leader: Leads, manages and provides overall direction to the Zero Poaching project. Responsible, in partnership with the Signature Program Facilitator, for the development and management of project work plans and budgets, as well as the successful implementation of the project. Leads on donor reporting and smaller grant development. Reviews the performance outcomes and status of all activities and evaluates and reports these results, as well as recommendations for corrective action.
Specifically:
Communications: Keeps abreast of the scientific literature, species conservation policies and conservation issues. Reviews publications and public material, including the website and donor/membership materials. Serves as a WWF spokesperson in media interviews, promotional events and in public fora.
