Nanosolar is looking for Process Engineers who will research the process phases of physical phenomena related to solar cell research, assist in developing theories on the basis of observation and experiments, and assist in devising methods to apply theories of physics to the solar cell industry. Duties include:

• Devising, implementing, and optimizing printing processes and thin-film deposition techniques, transferring these processes from pilot to production and scale up manufacturing.
• Establishing and qualifying high throughput printing processes for conductive inks and adhesives with new printer designs.
• Drive cost reduction by establishing printing processes for new and lower cost materials.
• Establishing programs to increase the reliability, capability, and repeatability of processes.
• Performing failure analysis and providing recommendations regarding system and equipment modification, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Analyzing, testing and applying laws of physics to propose and devise procedures for reducing scrap generated through our solution-coating thin-film deposition techniques, resulting in reduced costs.

Job Requirements
Background in fine printing processes and equipment (stencil and screen printing of conductive adhesive ink); material development (insulative/conductive adhesives & thin film silver migration barrier development); advanced theory and application of thin film characterization techniques and measurements (XPS, SIMS, SEM, EDX); process optimization and statistical data analysis (including multivariate analysis, regression analysis, design of experiments, measurement system analysis).

Minimum Qualifications
The minimum qualification for this position is a Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Physics.
