Príncipe Sustainable Finance Plan for Biodiversity and Protected Areas International Expert(s) in Biodiversity & Protected Area Finance

•Location: Home based partially with at least 20 days in Sao Tomé and Príncipe

•Contract period: 100 days over a period of 10 months Note: Given the current COVID-19 crisis, we are flexible regarding the start and end dates of the contract. Consultants should specify a proposed timeline in the application.”

We are looking for a consulting company or an individual consultant to prepare a Sustainable Finance Plan for Biodiversity and Protected Areas for São Tomé & Príncipe that will include a Protected Areas System Finance Needs and Gaps Assessment, Feasibility/Viability Studies, Implementation Design / Revenue management Model and Promotion Plan, considering the regional specificity for the Autonomous Region of Príncipe. 

 

The overall responsibilities and deliverables are:

 

•Inception Workshop, stakeholder consultations

•Sustainable Finance Development Plan 

•Feasibility Studies of, at least, the three ‘best’ financial options, including Conservation Trust Fund

•Sustainable Finance Implementation Design

•Sustainable Finance Monitoring & Evaluation plan, including a sustainable finance database management plan

•Promotion Plan & production of didactic communication material

•Validation Workshop

•Final Deliverables consolidating all technical and consultation inputs from all stakeholders into a well written and concise Sustainable Finance Plan for Biodiversity and Protected Areas.

 

The expert(s) shall 

•Hold a master’s degree or higher in any relevant field;

•Demonstrate proficiency in Portuguese and have excellent English knowledge;

•Have demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of conservation finance tools
