Our client is a global consultancy specialising in providing planning, engineering, management and environment solutions.  This is an exciting opportunity for a well-established, fully competent professional to join one of its key discipline groups.
This position involves acting as the leading technical contributor in some of the more complex and critical client situations.  You may also act as Team Leader, where you will lead a small team of people with responsibility for day-to-day supervision of staff, management of individual performance and scheduling of resources.  You will develop and maintain high credibility and influence inside the company and within the clients’ organisation.  The role involves significant project responsibility where you will be leading projects with considerable impact, proactively managing change requests and identifying risks.  You will also identify opportunities to leverage our client’s expertise in the marketplace and deliver presentations as a technical expert to peer groups, senior management, clients and suppliers.
You will be an Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer with an MSc in Geology or a strong Civil Engineering background.  Considerable post graduate experience in general Geotechnical design of infrastructure projects, mainly in a Rail environment or experience in working with structural engineers or Architects to develop feasible foundation solutions is essential.  You will have experience of infrastructure projects including brownfield sites, reclamation of quarries and mining projects.  In addition, you will be expected to undertake some business development.
