Description

Salary: £35k - £55k + benefit package

(Your experience/skills will determine where on a scale you start and no assumption of starting on the bottom rung should be made)

APEM Limited is Europe’s largest specialist aquatic science consultancy, offering our clients an integrated approach to every aspect of the scientific study and management of marine and freshwater habitats. As a result of APEM’s continued growth we are currently seeking a motivated, high calibre Principal Consultant to join our growing marine ecology team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the growth of APEM’s marine team in particular into the offshore environment and the marine renewable and oil and gas industries. You will have extensive consultancy experience in a marine ecology specialism, plus a network of clients and contacts in marine industry sectors. You will be well versed in all marine environmental and planning legislation and have the ability to undertake a range of environmental assessments from site specific Habitat Regulations Assessments and EIA’s to Strategic Environmental Assessments.

This is a high level position and consultancy experience and business acumen are essential pre-requisites for the role. We would anticipate candidates having at least an MSc (or the equivalent professional experience) in a relevant discipline and 5-8 years relevant marine consultancy experience. You should also be an enthusiastic individual who is able to grow and manage a multidisciplinary team of scientists, and run large-scale projects. This will therefore require excellent assessment and report writing skills, coupled with effective man management. You will be primarily office-based, although site visits and client meetings are likely to be required; therefore, a full driving licence is essential. Progress within the role will be limited only by your ambition, and by your ability to deliver.

If you think you have what it takes, click the online application form.  Completed application forms should be emailed together with a covering letter and an up-to-date copy of your CV to recruitment@apemltd.co.uk by 13th February 2012.
