Description

Wildlife Veterinarian required for an initial period of 12 months to co-ordinate native species wildlife disease surveillance as part of a Defra-funded partnership. Work will be based at the Institute of Zoology, London, and will involve post mortem examinations on garden birds, amphibians and hedgehogs; obtaining reports from, and feeding back results to, collaborating NGOs and to members of the public, and collating and writing quarterly and annual reports for Defra. Good communication and presentation skills, proficiency in data handling/collation, Microsoft Office and report preparation are required.

Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons with clinical experience, preferably with a related post-graduate qualification. An interest in wildlife epidemiology, pathology and British wildlife is desirable.
