Housed at CATIE, a large widely-recognized international agricultural research center in Costa Rica (www.catie.ac.cr), the Environment for Development (EfD) Center for Central America is a non-profit research institute aimed at improving environmental and natural resource policy making in Latin America. It belongs to a consortium of six EfD centers in developing countries led by the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and Resources for the Future in the US (www.efdinitiative.org).
The post-doctoral fellow will conduct policy-oriented research relevant to Latin America. We seek economists and professionals in related fields who will have completed a PhD by June 2008. The fellow will conduct new research in collaboration with EfD staff leading to publication in international scholarly journals. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: health and environment, pollution, climate change, poverty and environment and conservation policy.
