AGRI4CAST runs operationally a Crop Yield Forecasting System in order to provide timely crop production forecasts at European level. The AGRI4CAST system is made of remote sensing and meteorological observations, agrometeorological modelling (Crop Growth Monitoring System, CGMS) and statistical analysis tools. In the context of the project, the objective is to support the generation and further development of agro-meteorological analyses and crop yield forecasts. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in agrometeorology, agronomy, or related field (or a University degree and 5 years of research experience after the university degree giving access to doctoral studies). Demonstrated experience in the field of agrometeorological data analysis including meteorological forecasting or agrometeorological model development including model calibration, sensitivity analysis, and implementation is required. Hands-on experience scientific programming and in working on large spatial scales is essential. Knowledge of crop model usage with weather forecast data is considered an advantage. Relevant publications and presentations should be highlighted. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is required. The knowledge of another community language would be an advantage. The Joint Research Centre is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of its staff. It welcomes nominations of and applications from women and minority groups
