AGRI4CAST runs operationally a Crop Yield
Forecasting System in order to provide timely
crop production forecasts at European level. The
AGRI4CAST system is made of remote sensing
and meteorological observations, agrometeorological modelling (Crop Growth
Monitoring System, CGMS) and statistical
analysis tools.
In the context of the project, the objective is to
support the generation and further development
of agro-meteorological analyses and crop yield
forecasts.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in agrometeorology, agronomy,  or related field (or a
University degree and 5 years of research
experience after the university degree giving
access to doctoral studies).
Demonstrated experience in the field of agrometeorological data analysis including
meteorological  forecasting or agrometeorological model  development including
model calibration, sensitivity analysis, and
implementation is required. Hands-on
experience scientific programming and in
working on large spatial scales is essential.
Knowledge of crop model usage with weather
forecast data is considered an advantage.
Relevant publications and presentations should
be highlighted.  
Good knowledge of spoken and written English is
required. The knowledge of another community
language would be an advantage.
