Organisers at 38 Degrees are responsible for supporting thousands of 38 Degrees members to meet with MPs and other politicians on a regular basis. We believe that democracy is better with more people involved, so we help people from all walks of life and from all over the UK to influence decision-makers.
We’re looking for outstanding organisers with proven abilities to work creatively, with a track record of designing innovative processes, delivering big programmes of work and brilliant communications skills.
Organisers will probably have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience. Your experience doesn’t necessarily need to be in an NGO or campaign group, it can be from work that you have done on a voluntary basis or in your own community.
Responsibilities:
Deliver brilliant meetings and events: Facilitate thousands of 38 Degrees members meeting with hundreds of MPs across a variety of campaigns and topics.
Support 38 Degrees members from start to finish, and liaise with MPs? offices. Organise logistics and materials for events and meetings, such as filming and photography.
Design efficient and innovative processes: Help develop the MP meeting programme to scale-up the numbers of meetings and numbers of 38 Degrees members involved. Make sure the programme is an efficient spend of 38 Degrees members? money. Regularly help evaluate the programme to spot opportunities to innovate.
Integrate with campaigns: Work closely with campaigns teams to find opportunities for MP meetings or other political organising, such as hustings or parliamentary events. Provide strategic advice on organising opportunities.

Your core skills and experience will include:

The ability to quickly understand and engage with complex logistics and campaign plans
The ability to quickly learn and understand new campaign areas without getting lost in unnecessary detail
A willingness to take risks, fail and adapt
Identifying, designing, and winning a campaign with on or offline tactics
Facilitation experience – this job will require working with lots of different members and experience in making sure everyone can participate is important
Event management experience
Creativity for campaign tactics and strategies
A proven ability to get to grips with new technology (like a mass email platform or the Facebook ad platform) quickly and calmly
