As a Policy Analyst at OPOWER you will assist the Senior Director for Policy, Partnerships, and Public Affairs in expanding energy efficiency markets in the United States and globally to help households and businesses use less energy, save money, and protect the environment. The position will primarily focus on policy analysis, coalition-building, and legislative advocacy to encourage energy efficiency.
You will be expected to become an expert in the federal regulatory and political landscape, as well assist the regulatory team by focusing on some key states. You will gain expertise on the businesses, non-profits, and associations that have been advocating for energy efficiency and will help OPOWER develop a broad coalition of supporters as it works to shape the energy debate.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 2-5 years of work experience (ideally in politics, consulting, advocacy, or policy) who wants to work for a fast-growing Cleantech company that is fundamentally changing how Americans use energy. World-class writing skills and an intense work ethic are essential. Sharp political instincts and effective research abilities are required. Some background in energy policy and/or statistical analysis is preferred. Familiarity with online advocacy and new media communications is a plus.?
