Conduct and manage research of international standard that will help to ensure long-term ecosystem health and sustainability of both natural and agricultural systems in mixed landscapes
Lead, and contribute to the publication of quality papers in national and international journals
Provide leadership and management to staff within the group that contributes to a highly functioning and productive team
Develop and maintain a wide network of contacts within CSIRO and provide scientific leadership across the organization though its Flagship Projects and other initiatives. Create and maintain networks with other research and education institutions, among research funding agencies and with natural resource, agricultural and environmental managers
Establish a substantial external funding base for research that is consistent with the objectives of the CSIRO Flagships and themes relevant to the group and Flagships as appropriate. Deliver to obligations of external research contracts
Engage actively in national and international debates about natural resource management;
Maintain records and data in a manner consistent with CSIRO’s policies
Interact constructively with relevant CSIRO management, administrative and science leadership staff appropriately to address the communication, resource and management needs of the group
