Planning Officer – Landscape

The Strategic Planning Policy & Specialist Advice Team, South Gloucestershire Council, primarily provide advice in relation to landscape matters with regard to planning applications and development of the council’s planning policy framework.

You must be articulate and able to effectively convey ideas and opinions, to facilitate successful negotiation with applicants and agents, while also demonstrating an understanding of technical aspects of the delivery process. 

Under the direction of the Senior Landscape Officer the post-holder will undertake site inspections, negotiations and provision of landscape advice to contribute to support the council’s development management and planning policy functions and other development proposals in line with the objectives and policies of the Council. This will include consideration of Environmental Impact Assessments and Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments.
