The Scottish Wildlife Trust is at the forefront of wildlife conservation in Scotland with over 35,000 members, an amazing network of wildlife reserves, and impressive range of practical conservation projects and an excellent reputation in the field of environmental policy and advocacy.
As our Perthshire Ranger, based at the popular Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve and Visitor Centre, you will work with our Reserve Manager and look after five of our important woodland sites in Highland Perthshire. To help maintain nature's balance you will survey their habitats and species and take part in practical conservation tasks. Equally important will be your key role in running the thrilling - Operation Osprey' to co-ordinate the protection of a pair of ospreys returning from wintering in West Africa to breed in this wonderful part of Scotland. Connecting with our visitors, local communities and members you will strengthen an already special relationship and bring people and wildlife together. The post is full-time for three years.
Applicants must hold HNC or above in relevant or equivalent discipline and be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge relevant for the position, a passion for wider nature conservation and excellent communication, organisational and IT skills are essential. A driving licence and the ability to work some weekends and evenings is also essential.
