Description

We need a motivated and organised co-ordinator and facilitator to prepare

the way for nationally coordinated penguin conservation.

 

Reporting to our GM Conservation Advocacy, you will be responsible for consulting

with a range of penguin conservation stakeholders to engage with them around

the development of an all-species penguin Recovery Group. Further you will

be responsible for developing a framework for a recovery plan that the Group

would be responsible for developing into a recovery plan.

 

This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week for six-months (starting

April 2018 and finishing September 2018).

 

A background in conservation, ecology or science (penguin or seabird knowledge

would be advantageous);

 

Project management skills;

 

A high level of personal motivation and , the ability to initiate and complete

tasks independently, and in a timely manner;

 

A proven track record of producing quality documentation and reports;

 

A proven track record of engagement with a number of different stakeholders

 

Positive interpersonal skills to engage and work with stakeholders;

 

The flexibility to travel;

 

An understanding and awareness of tikanga Maori.
