This project is looking for three interns to be part of an owl survey crew to complete inventory surveys for the presence, habitat relationships and reproductive status of several owl species (elf owl, pygmy owl, screech owl and great horned owl) in 800 hectares of private land. Candidates should be University students or graduates of a related field, such as biology, zoology, wildlife conservation or environmental sciences. Candidates with demonstrable bird banding and bird point surveys experience (not necessary with owls or other raptors) are preferred. The surveys will occur over a 3-month period from early March to late May 30, 2013. The application deadline is 31 January, 2013.
Interns will be provided with housing and 3 meals a day at a private ranch plus a £250 per month stipend. Interns are also provided with nature photography workshops during their stay.
