Origination Manager, New York City, New York, USA

My client works closely with landowners and developers across the USA developing and managing various wind farms throughout North America. They offer specialist technical experts and experienced project management and are keen to develop strong relationship with the local community in which the wind farm developments take place.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Project Development, you will be responsible for every aspect concerning origination and will identify and negotiate power sale contracts both by responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and directly approaching power purchasers.

Responsibilities:-

• ·         Manage and develop key relationships with customers and key players in the market
• ·         You will coordinates with the development team in order to obtain PPA and REC contracts
• ·         Develop and maintain key relationships with utilities and power purchasers
• ·         Prepare and identify responses to RFPs
• ·         Build and maintain customer database and contact tracking system
• ·         Analyze Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) opportunities for near-term projects
• ·         Analyze the impact of current and potential national RPS market rules on near-term projects
• ·         Lead / participate in PPA negotiations
• ·         Examine market trends and identify new customers and customer needs
• ·         Undertake Power market research for strategic planning

Education:-

Must have a strong academic background with a degree in either Electrical Engineering or Business Management

Core Requirements:-

• ·         Must have 5+ years of relevant origination and energy marketing
• ·         Demonstrated record of success closing energy transactions
• ·         Comprehensive knowledge of energy markets, with emphasis on renewable energy
• ·         Excellent knowledge of power purchase agreements, electrical transmission, wheeling power, regulatory policies, pooled markets and grid ancillary services
• ·         Knowledge of the economic and financial market in relation to the renewable market.
• ·         Possess a valid USA Drivers License
• ·         The capability of becoming a key contributor in a complex environment

• ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
• ·         The ability to manage workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of projects simultaneously
