Operations Manager (HSE), Northern UK, UK

My client is an onshore wind energy developer with offices in 10 countries across North America, Asia Pacific and Europe. They specialise in the construction, development, operations and advisory services across the UK and have been involved in the UK wind industry for over 19 years. They have a strong market reputation and multiple offices across the UK.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for a Operations Manager who has working experience in wind energy market and specialist experience in the HSE management. They are looking for someone to oversee the UK QHSE processes for onshore wind farm developments whilst managing the operational team in the region. This position will report directly to the Head of Operations in the UK.

Responsibilities

• As UK operations manager you will lead the operations team, maintaining client relationships and managing contract negotiations in relation to the construction process
• Managing audit schedules, to achieve suitable monitoring and auditing of projects in accordance with defined objectives and departmental performance in all HSQE matters.
• Required to travel and meet with QHSE managers within our company and throughout Europe in order to produce companywide implementation processes.
• You will work to the highest level and employ staff that fits to the companies requirement
• Managing and developing you team in order to ensure that they perform top the highest standard
• Your visit sites across the UK to ensure that the requirements within HSE are been met and are in compliance with UK standard.

Education

Advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent with required HSE qualifications

Core Requirements:-

• A complete knowledge of the regulations and legislation of HSE within the UK
• Team management experience
• Have a recognised safety qualification (minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) and hold professional membership of a British safety institution such as CMIOSH
• Possess a working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and related certification process.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
• Skills in developing relationships in order to developed the HSE department in the UK with a focus in the Wind market
• In field work experience in QHSE in the energy arena

General requirements

• Clean Full UK drivers license
• Ability to travel across the UK
• Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
• Strong presentation skills
