RWE npower renewables is a subsidiary company of RWE Innogy operating in the UK. As a
renewable energy company, RWE npower renewables develop, build and operate onshore and
offshore windfarms, hydro-electric power stations and biomass power plants. At RWE npower
renewables health and safety has absolute priority.

The OFTO Portfolio Investment Executive shall take the lead role in ensuring the new offshore
transmission regime is implemented efficiently and  in RWE npower renewables best interest
across RWE npower renewables Innogy offshore wind projects.

Job Profile:

The OFTO Portfolio Investment Executive will be responsible for the sales process of Gwynt-y-Môr
(GyM) offshore transmission assets (circa £300 million). The OFTO Portfolio Investment Executive
will liaise with Ofgem and the bidders, and coordinate Transfer Agreement negotiations resulting in
the appointment of a suitable OFTO ensuring that the Project is protected in the long term through
the success of the OFTO process.

 Ensuring a suitable project plan is in place and effectively executed;
 Ensuring a suitable strategy is in place to implement OFTO at each UK offshore
project;
 Ensuring a suitable long term strategy is implemented regarding the life of the OFTO
assets to protect the projects economic returns;
 Preparing and optimising a Regulated Asset Value (RAV) for the Gwynt-y-Môr
transmission assets;
 Ensuring a suitable sales process for the offshore transmission assets takes place;
 Ensuring that suitable Contractual Agreements between GyM and the OFTO are
entered into;
OFTO (Offshore Transmission Owner)
Portfolio Investment Executive  Producing required sales information including the  Information Memorandums,
populating data rooms and effective Q&A’s prior to the transfer of transmission assets
to OFTOs;
 Providing analysis  to support the lobbying process for UK offshore issues;
 Supporting the Commercial Managers on the development projects on commercial
grid issues, such as transmission charge calculations;
 Working closely with UK Government (Ofgem), to ensure RWE’s interests are
protected through the implementation of the new offshore transmission regime; and
 Managing the PCG renewal process for RWEI’s Bilateral Connection Agreements.
Principal Accountabilities:
 Effectively guide Gwynt-y-Mor through OFTO Transitional Tender Round  
 Manage the strategic integration of an OFTO into RWEI’s development projects,
under the OFTO Enduring Regime.
 Become an ‘internal expert’ on the OFTO regime and feed in to lobbying positions for
discussions with UK Government (Ofgem & DECC).
Knowledge and Skills:
 Ability to successfully develop commercial strategies/solutions within a construction
project environment.
 Strong problem solving ability, pro-active attitude, attention to detail, capability to
analyse problems from first principles, or situations where issues are not black & white.
 Degree qualified in an economic, business or engineering discipline, with commercial
experience within an engineering, construction or energy environment.
 Understanding of offshore electricity transmission systems and electrical engineering.
 Excellent communication capabilities and able to communicate and influence effectively
at all levels of RWE and with external stakeholders such as government officials, JV
partners and contractors.  Ability to represent RWE at industry forums.  
 Excellent analytical skills with the capability to transform findings into solutions, hence
output orientated.
 Excellent communication capabilities and able to communicate effectively both verbally
and in writing in English.
