Offshore Turbine Engineer – South East, UK

My client is one of the largest global developers with an outstanding reputation for excellence. They develop, construct and operate large scale offshore wind farms.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will report directly to the Offshore Turbine Engineer Manager and will focus on the construction and pre- construction phases of offshore wind projects. You will ensure that effective communication is maintained across the construction, engineering, and commercial teams as well as liaising with turbine manufactures on a regular basis to ensure that products meet the companies requirements.

Responsibilities:

• ·         Liaise with turbine manufactures to coordinate technical queries
• ·         Monitoring of construction works
• ·         Provide regular updates on construction activities
• ·         Ensure that HSE and quality standards are maintained
• ·         Communicating the progress to other project teams
• ·         Prepare technical specifications
• ·         Provide support in assessing proposals from suppliers
• ·         Assisting in site inspections

Education:

Ideally the candidate will be educated to degree or hold a relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Core Requirements:

• ·         2 years relevant work experience within the offshore wind industry
• ·         Previous experience working with offshore wind turbines during the construction phase
• ·         Proven ability to evaluate complex machinery
• ·         Understanding of offshore HSE measures
• ·         Understanding of plans and specifications for civil, structural and electrical work
