My client is a highly successful international developer, global leaders in offshore wind farms and renewable energies with a world class list of exceptional clients and projects. They are looking for an Offshore Technical Manager to support the Directors in leading the technical/consultancy teams whilst delivering advice to clients in the renewable energy sector.

 

Position Overview:

The technical manager will need to deliver high standards within the environmental field whilst displaying exceptional people skills. You will be tasked with leading the technical/consultancy teams and will need a comprehensive understanding of key stakeholders, survey methodologies and consenting processes along with an excellent understanding of key offshore technologies.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Ability to understand the full life cycle programmes for offshore wind farm project, including civil, electrical, environmental, consents, energy supply analysis, supply chain integration
  • ·         Interpret, understand and act upon offshore and marine environmental surveys
  • ·         Advising clients on offshore wind technologies
  • ·         Expanding the business to new opportunities whilst offering support to existing clients
  • ·         Preparation and  coordination of the consultancy team’s reports
  • ·         Carry out initial site environmental review
  • ·         Predict, monitor and give professional advice on all aspects in the offshore sector
  • ·         Understanding and overseeing the consenting processes
  • ·         Provide support to the Director of Environment
  • ·         Carry out data analysis as part of the offshore monitoring process

 

 

Education:-

  • ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or similar

 

Core Requirements:-

  • ·         A commercial and pragmatic ethos
  • ·         A good understanding of marine and offshore environmental issues
  • ·         A minimum of 2 years in marine/wind renewable energy
  • ·         A minimum of 5 years experience in either onshore or offshore environmental impact assessment
  • ·         Career driven

 

 

General Requirements:-

  • Membership of IEEM or IEMA
  • A good understanding of other sectors of the renewable industry and their environmental impact
