Description

My client is the leading wind turbine manufacturer. They are a dominate force in the supply of on and offshore wind turbine and are renowned for their unmatched  quality.  As the major player in the offshore wind market my client is a wind company that can offer exciting opportunities in the wind sector. They have manufactured and installed a large number of the wind developments internationally in both the on and offshore wind market. They are a strong customer focused company who aims to work at the highest level and ensure that their company name remains a recognised brand in the wind sector. The role will either be based in Greater London, UK or Hamburg, Germany.


Core Criteria:
My client is
looking to recruit a director of sales to oversee their offshore wind turbine sales operations in the European market. This position will require managing a team from home and afar while still working closely with the senior sales managers in regions across Europe. The European Sales director will be reporting directly to the VP of sales and will be key part of their continued growth in the European market.

 

Responsibilities:-

  •          Ensure that my client is in the bid process for large scale offshore wind farm developments across the UK
  •          Develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecasts and performance goals to achieve corporate objectives for projects within Europe
  •          Demonstrate ability to negotiate large scale offshore contracts with a team of bid managers, sales managers and support staff
  •          You will manage the development of initial relationships with developers, operators, manufacturers and investors of offshore wind projects in order to achieve the end result of project development in the offshore wind market across Europe
  •          Manage performance of sales team and representative organizations
  •          Design strategic plans for global and strategic accounts in the offshore market
  •          Team coordination at a national and international level

 

Education:-

PHD or MSc in Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent

 

Core Requirements:-

  •          You must have 1-3 years business development or sales experience in the wind market
  •          You must have 4-8 years experience in the wind industry
  •          You will have 1-2 years working in the offshore wind industry
  •          Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and work closely with VP level managers in a large multinational company
  •          Ability to manage multiple large scale projects

General Requirement

  •          Ability to travel internationally
  •          Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
  •          Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies
  •          Excellent ability to communicate and work in English is a must with the ability to communicate in other European languages

 

Key Skills:-

Energy, renewable energy, construction, offshore, negotiations experience, business development, sales of wind turbines/generators or large wind projects, exceptional team leadership skills, project managers, experience with complex contact negotiations and complex stakeholder and customer management experience
