My client is a global leader within the wind manufacturing sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. They are looking to recruit an Offshore Project Development Manager to join their offshore development, engineering, construction and operations team to help meet their existing and future operations throughout the UK and Europe.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Offshore Development Manager, the Project Development Manager will lead the ongoing development of my client’s consents and development strategy and will be responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the development and consent of one or more offshore wind farm projects, including all associated onshore and offshore works.
Responsibilities:-
- · Be responsible for site/project identification.
- · Identify the viability for commercial wind projects
- · Oversee project design, engineering and technical requirements
- · Oversee the prioritization of assignments, budgets and to organize and direct the flow of work to meet both internal and external expectations
- · Identify, assess and create project development opportunities
- · Oversee zonal assessments, EIAs, planning and consents, landowner and stakeholder management and supervision of the development team in carrying out these tasks
- · Liaise with my client’s technical and engineering managers
- · Manage day to day project tasks and escalate any risks/issues that impact on the project performance, timetable and cost
- · Monitor the project progress and performance with regular reports to internal senior management and external clients
Education:-
- · Must have strong academic background in business or any engineering discipline
Core Requirements:-
- At least 3-5 years experience with a proven track record in the development and management of wind projects
- A strong background working in the offshore wind market
- · Excellent management skills
- · Be able to understand the total project development operation including material procurement and forecasting
- · Ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
General Requirements:-
- · Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
Key Skills:-
Solid understanding of offshore wind development regulations, team leadership, offshore wind, project development, negotiating, developing strategies, EIAs
