Description

My Client is a leading environmental and engineering consultancy that provides solutions to all aspects of the project lifecycle within the offshore wind industry. Through the constant delivery of highly skilled engineers they can help reduce the risk and cost of highly complex projects.

Position Overview:
The offshore GIS technician will be responsible for providing support to the offshore wind farm department through intergraded use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

Responsibilities:
• Produce controlled drawings for internal and external issue, including development and survey layouts, and engineering design
• Receive, review and store consultant provided GIS data
• Creation of metadata and uploading to statutory body websites
Education:
Strong degree in GIS related discipline or equivalent related experience
Core Requirements:-
• A minimum of 6 months experience using ArcGIS 9.3 or above
• Digital cartographic and map production skills
• GIS track record, including proficiency with standard GIS applications and data layers
• Relevant experience with AutoCAD
General Requirements:-

• Experience using Xtools pro and/or ACRGIS
• Good knowledge of data issues; awareness of different coordinates systems
• Digital cartographic and map production skills and use of Spatial Analyst extension
• Ability to develop and maintain databases
