Description

My client is a global leader within the wind manufacturing sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. They are looking to looking to expand the development capabilities of their offshore department by recruiting an Offshore Developer to be based in London.

 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Project Development Manager, you will be a member of the Offshore Development Department and will work with the development team coordinating and taking responsibility for environmental impact assessments throughout the development phase of an offshore wind energy project.

 

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Production of planning applications and environmental statements for the development of UK offshore wind farm opportunities
  • ·         Work directly with the Project Development Manager and other team members to progress developments efficiently and according to plan
  • ·         Assist in the management of the Environmental Impact Assessment process including review, edit and production of the Environment Statement for onshore and offshore works
  • ·         Assist in the development of project budgets
  • ·         Manage specialist consultants and contractors
  • ·         Liaise with statutory consultants and work directly with them to resolve particular environmental issues where they arise.
  • ·         Stakeholder and public consultations including attendance at public exhibitions including commissioning the production of exhibition materials
  • ·         Provision of environmental advice on site identification and selection and commissioning of feasibility studies for future sites and opportunities
  • ·         Provide technical and non technical support to general business development activities

 

Education:-

  • ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in Environmental Management or Environmental Science

 

Core Requirements:-

  • ·         Must have at least 3 years of offshore experience within the wind industry
  • ·         Must be able to demonstrate ability in leading Environmental Impact Assessments
  • ·         Proven experience in marine environmental matters
  • ·         Good all-round knowledge and experience of project managing Environmental Impact Assessments and planning consents, particularly for offshore wind farms
  • ·         Experience in commissioning and managing offshore environmental survey works
  • ·         Project management skills including a proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, using internal staff, subcontractors and consultants

  • ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • ·         A self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
