Description

The job description below outlines the basic roles of the Construction Manager, the list is not definitive or limiting and other requirements may come to light as the project moves forward.

The project will be delivered within the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2007

The Construction Manager will be required to:

  • Actively manage safety and personnel welfare throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work within the RES Project Management, Safety and Environmental Procedures throughout the term of the project.
  • Liaise with all RES departments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Produce and maintain a Project Construction Plan, outlining schedule and resources required.
  • Input into design and engineering of the components to ensure that they can be manufactured and utilised in a cost effective and safe manner
  • Engage with Marine Warranty, Classification and regulatory bodies to ensure that there are no holds in the progress or non-conformances during project lifecycle.
  • Produce or review, as appropriate, Method Statements and Procedures for the construction, installation and decommissioning phases of the project.
  • Manage and supervise the construction, installation and decommissioning processes, ensuring they are delivered safely on schedule and within the agreed budget
  • Ensure that all marine vessels, personnel and equipment are suitably certified and fit for purpose
  • Establish Emergency Procedures for all eventualities.
  • Ensure that Risk Assessments and JSAs are carried out and any risks mitigated to ALARP
  • Produce monthly project reports outlining progress, budget and safety statistics
  • Produce other reports as necessary during the course of the project
  • Hold / attend meetings as required

The Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager.
