Title | OCE Honours Scholarships - Climate Predictions via new Ocean Observing System Technology |
Posted |
Description |
Working to reduce the uncertainty in climate predictions via exploiting a very new mathematical technique that can deduce the strength of ocean mixing processes from modern ocean observations. The strength of ocean mixing that arises from this project will then be used in coupled climate models to better predict climate change. Applications for OCE Honours Scholarships will be accepted from full-time students enrolled in an eligible Australian Higher Education Institution during the term of the award. For the year the scholarship is to begin, students must hold (or expect to gain) a degree from a recognised University and expect to undertake an Honours year. Joint supervision of students by a university and a CSIRO supervisor is required wherever possible, and such joint supervisory arrangements must be consistent with the Higher Degree by Research Regulations of the host university. In most cases the primary supervisor will be the university supervisor. Applications: International Applicants Welcome (but you must be enrolled in an Australian university) Scholarships are being offered in ten priority research areas at a number of locations. |
