Overview: |
CSG is seeking a full-time Technical Field Representative to provide technical assistance for several residential energy efficiency programs. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of home contracting and building practices, expertise in energy efficient residential construction and building science, very good writing and reporting skills and excellent interpersonal skills needed to work predominately with residential customers, contractors and builders. Applicants must willing to relocate or be geographically situated to service the New York City Area including Westchester County and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities: |
- Conduct in-process and/or post-completion QA/QC or verification visits in residential homes
- Inspect work listed on the work order/completion form to verify that the energy efficiency measures or equipment have been installed to program quality standards.
- Perform diagnostic tests as needed and utilize energy modeling software.
- Answer customer questions regarding subcontractor or energy advisor visits.
- Document inspection findings with accurate, concise, and timely reports.
- Technical Support
- Provide technical support to contractors and others on the practical application of energy efficiency measures and related building sciences and standards.
- Provide ongoing feedback to construction managers and/or program management
- Training
- Provide classroom and/or hands-on field training to contractors and other program stakeholders as required.
- Training topics may include both program and theoretical and practical building sciences and standards such as:
- Performing Comprehensive Home Assessments
- Air and duct sealing techniques and testing
- Use of the blower door and/or duct blaster diagnostic tools
- Provide training on programs such as GJGNY, LIPA, National Grid EHSIP, Home Performance, EmPower and others as assigned.

Qualifications: |
- Experience in residential construction, HVAC, energy efficiency measures, and/or residential energy auditing.
- BPI Building Analyst, Home Inspector or Auditor, or similar certification is preferred. BPI Certification required within the first year of employment.
- Experience with Blower Door & Duct Blaster diagnostic equipment and procedures a plus
- Computer proficiency. Experience with Windows based computers is critical, and familiarity with computerized building energy modeling software such as REM/Rate, Manual J, TREAT or other residential construction software is a strong plus.
- Work well individually or as part of a team
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must be organized and self -motivated
- Must have strong oral presentation skills including ability to communicate technical concepts to builders, homebuyers and trades people.
- Demonstrated written communication skills (email, memos, reports, etc.)
- Must be able to carry 35 lbs, use ladders, and be able to work in crawl spaces or attics as needed
- Flexible schedule, some evenings and Saturdays may be required.
- Requires reliable transportation to travel between customer and client sites
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
