My client is a leading onshore Wind Consultancy company. They provide a wide variety of technical and consultancy support throughout the life-cycle of a onshore wind project. They endeavour to work to the highest quality for the greater good of the wider community and in order to maximise the potential for onshore wind power in the UK.

 

They now have a position open for a noise acoustics and vibrations technician available on a part time basis in the UK. This position requires the ability to work independently and provide technical support to the project site manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • ·         Erecting metrological masts in order to gather data
  • ·         Data analysis
  • ·         Using information gathered from data analysis in order to assess the environmental impact of the potential onshore wind project
  • ·         Writing reports that would be suitable for use in EIA processes
  • ·         Travelling between sites to gather data as required.

Further Responsibilities:

  • ·         Performing to the highest standards in order to maintain company integrity
  • ·         Report efficiently to site co-ordinator or manager
  • ·         Increased responsibility and projects as time goes on
  • ·         Travelling frequently and at short notice to onshore wind sites across the UK

Key Skills:

  • ·         University qualification to BSC level (minimum) either Environmental Management,  Acoustics, Noise and Vibration or related field in the environmental sector.
  • ·         Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • ·         Use of Sound Level Meters
  • ·         Experience in using noise modelling software
  • ·         Experience in pollution measurement a bonus
  • ·         Full, clean UK driving license
  • ·         In depth knowledge of regulatory and legal issues relating to building onshore wind farms in the UK

Desirable Attributes:

  • ·         Exceptional report writing skills
  • ·         Exceptional communication skills
  • ·         Background in working on onshore wind farm projects is a bonus
