The Scottish Wildlife Trust is at the forefront of wildlife conservation in Scotland with over 35,000 members, an amazing network of wildlife reserves, and impressive range of practical conservation projects and an excellent reputation in the field of environmental policy and advocacy.
Our Montrose Basin Ranger will be based at the visitor centre on the edge of the internationally important wetland nature reserve in Angus. Here you will monitor and record the huge variety of resident birds and tens of thousands wintering wildfowl, and support their conservation whilst connecting with local community activities. Working with our members, landowners, contractors and statutory bodies, you will take part in practical conservation tasks and lead on guided walks to support the well established environmental education programme. This post is a full-time, permanent position.
Applicants must hold HNC or above in relevant or equivalent discipline and be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge relevant for the position, a passion for wider nature conservation and excellent communication, organisational and IT skills are essential. A driving licence and the ability to work some weekends and evenings is also essential.
