Description

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the daily operational work linked to the trading activities
  • Share knowledge and educate colleagues through briefings and informal discussions and case studies
  • Be responsible for the meteorological information communicated in our information channels, such as market reports and intranet
  • Play an active role in developing and maintaining tools, methods, systems and applications for meteorological information and data
  • Develop, maintain and create useful and high qualitative meteorological products and services to our internal costumers
  • Work pro-actively and communicate information, forecasts, and interpretations to energy traders, production planners and analyst or other internal costumers
  • Be a meteorological knowledge base and educate colleagues through presentations and informal discussions
  • On request provide special request and ad-hoc questions, case studies and solution
  • Be part of the Meteorological Group and Market Analysis Team

Qualifications

  • Well skilled and experienced meteorologist shearing and are good in communicating information and results
  • Forecaster, Masters or doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in meteorology, geophysics or mathematics
  • English and other languages are of additional advantage
  • Experience with numerical analysis and meteorological operational forecasting
  • Understanding of hydrology and be able to understand hydropower related meteorological products and services
  • Understanding and knowledge of statistics
  • Knowledge of databases and geographical information systems is an advantage
  • Some familiarity or experience from the Nordic power marked is advantageous
