JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Regional Programme Coordinator, the Programme Assistant will support IUCN’s work in the Mediterranean, with a specific focus in:
1) Support the implementation of the agriculture portfolio (estimated dedication 40%) This includes:
a) spatial and data analysis of the current status and threats of biodiversity in agricultural ecosystems) spatial and data analysis of the current status and threats of biodiversity of med pollinators
c) Analysis of the current knowledge on priorities and critical areas to prevent and reduce the impact of pests on agricultural biodiversity Specific Tasks
Establishing and maintaining a sound and productive working relationships with IUCN partners involved in the project.
Ensuring the development of the activities of the project Cultural Landscapes
2) Support the implementation of the Knowledge products portfolio (estimated dedication 40%). This includes:
a) Spatial analysis of the current status and threats of several taxonomic groups and ecosystems in the Med region
b) Analysis of priorities and critical areas under global change scenarios (e.g impacts of invasive species, climate change, connectivity)
Specific Tasks
Data searching and analysis from available databases
3) Other Support to Mediterranean Programme implementation (estimated dedication 10-20%).
Specific Tasks
Support other departments in the office for emerging issues including searching and data analysis and mapping
