Opower is hiring a Marketing Communications Manager to execute interactive campaigns and drive lead-generation programs that will help catapult this fast-growing company into prime time. We’re looking for someone who is a writer at the core, can seamlessly switch between projects, and knows how to translate vision into communications programs that excite others while simultaneously driving business.
This person will report to the Director of Corporate Marketing and will be a part of the greater Corporate Marketing Team. She or he will work closely with the product, event, and brand teams to continue to drive awareness, deliver creative marketing communications, and further Opower’s leadership position within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the editorial planning, logistics, and promotion of "The Power of Energy Information" webinar series
  • Be the lead for all corporate marketing e-mail communications (original content development, overseeing code delivery, while liaising with brand on design). This includes: event RSVPs, company newsletter, webinar sign-ups, new product announcements, lead generation campaigns, and other impromptu needs
  • Identify opportunities for and execute lead generation campaigns to support new sales and expansions
  • Work closely with product marketing team to author white papers and ancillary content to support lead gen activities
  • Coordinate ad hoc web site updates in association with lead generation activity, such as landing page development
  • Become the marketing automation champion on the team, providing support and direction for the team about innovative ways we can take advantage of Silverpop's capabilities
  • Liaise closely with sales operations to facilitate the proper hand-off of leads and provide reporting on campaign effectiveness over time
  • Recommend process improvements for lead gen and hand-off
  • Support major team efforts such as product launches as needs arise

About you

  • You have 5 years working in progressive marketing and/or communications roles within a corporate environment
  • You have experience running lead nurturing and development campaigns
  • You have direct experience working with a marketing automation tool (such as Silverpop, Marketo, or Eloqua) and know Salesforce.com just as well as the sales team
  • You can crank out copy from here to there while they’re over with their grammar book confirming the proper use of pronouns
  • You have respect for white space in design and know a thing or two about elements within communication that drive conversion
  • Numbers don’t scare you either. You can navigate your way through web analytics, e-mail performance metrics and find insights among all the data
  • You play nice with others and have an ability to fight for peoples’ attention from other areas of the company
  • You have equally strong verbal communications skills and can articulate your thinking concisely
  • You tweet, pin, post, share, and in general, enjoy living online just as much as off
  • You’ve earned a Bachelor’s of Arts or Science in marketing or communications from a top-tier university. MBA is a definite plus, but experience that’ll make us envious is equally valued.

You’re highly motivated and know what it’s like to work in an intense start-up environment (and are cool with all the free food and caffeine that comes along with it)
